#passthemic: Edith Campbell Takes Over A Fuse #8 Production for the Week
I am pleased to announce that this week you’re going to hear an entirely different voice at the blog A Fuse #8 Production. In the spirit of #passthemic, where white folks give over their platforms to people that deserve a wider audience, I am handing over full reign of this site to Edith Campbell.
For those of you unfamiliar with Edi, she’s pretty much one of the most longstanding children’s book bloggers out there. I just went through her site and traced her blog back to at least June 3, 2006, thought in that post you will see that she was simply migrating over from a different platform. She wrote, “My blog is primarily about the nuances of being a librarian in a primarily African American high school: finding appropriate books, locating resources and finding successes for a marginalized population. And a few personal comments to keep it crazy!”

Here is her full biography:
Edith Campbell is an assistant librarian in the Cunningham Memorial Library at Indiana State University. As part of the Reference and Instruction team, she serves as the liaison to the Bayh College of Education. Edith has served on the WNDB’s Walter Award, YALSA’s Printz and ALSC’s Sibert award committees. She currently reviews for the Journal of Children’s Literature and serves on the Advisory Board for the online peer-reviewed journal, Research on Diversity in Youth Literature. Her research interests include valuing Black children in youth literature and implementation of critical literacy practices in libraries. Edith was a founding member of See What We See and the We Are Kidlit Collective. She blogs to promote literacy, decolonization and social justice in young adult literature at CrazyQuiltsEdi. Edith received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Cincinnati and M.L.S. from Indiana University.
It is my very great honor to welcome Edi to the site today. Look forward to her thoughts in the coming days, and a big thank you to her for agreeing to guest here for the week.
