Kidlit Drink Night: September Edition

August 26, 2010 by Betsy Bird   6 comments

Ah.  Tis that bonny time of the year when like-minded people (or, in some cases, like-occupationed people) gather together in pubs to sip alcoholic drinks and discuss the state of children’s literature today.  Yes, it’s Kidlit Drink Night yet again, and this month Cheryl and I are hanging our hat on an old standby that many of us love.  Get ready for a beer list that’ll put to shame any other place you’ve been in town.  We’re going to The Ginger Man!

What: Kidlit Drink Night – A monthly gathering of children’s literary enthusiasts where any and all are welcome.

Where: The Ginger Man, 11 East 36th Street between 5th Avenue and Madison.  We’ll either be in the back or in the front.  Just look for folks with glasses.

When: Monday, September 13th at 6:30 p.m.

This is like dangling the carrot in front of the horse. I haven’t been to a KidLit Drink Night in awhile but how can I resist Ginger Man?!

Ah. I intend to change the “but” in that sentence to an “and”. You must come! I miss you.

    Sounds like a good time!

Maybe those of us located in the great state of TX could get together at one of the many Ginger M(e)n here! (http://gingermanpub.com/)

Can’t fool me. This is timed to celebrate your mom’s plane taking off …

And I would have gotten away with it too! If it were for those . . . uh . . . pesky kids I do storytimes for? Doesn’t roll trippingly off the tongue, that sentence.
