What to Grab at ALA – A Librarian Preview Round-up

June 24, 2010 by Betsy Bird   3 comments

Happy day!  I am heading out to Washington D.C. this fine and fancy day to attend the American Library Association Conference.  You know what that means, don’t you?  Completely random blogging at odd hours of the day!  Woo-hoo!

In preparation for this trip I’m providing for those happy citizens also attending some links to my Fall 2010 Librarian Previews. Feel free to give them a look, think about what seems neat, then ask about those books when you’re on the conference floor.  That way, everyone’s prepared!

Caveat: One preview is still missing.  In the midst of my slow mud-like blogging I failed to write up the Lerner Publishing Group’s absolutely lovely librarian preview that occurred during Book Expo.  For this, I am truly sorry (not the least because they have some fabulous books on the horizon).  So!  You are encouraged to help me out by making sure you stop by the Lerner booth at least once when you attend the conference floor.  It will alleviate my guilt and you will benefit by seeing lovely books.  And for my part I’ll type up that preview either during this conference or when I get back.

And now . . .

Librarian Summer 2010 Previews Include:

  • Penguin

Librarian Fall 2010 Previews Include:

  • Albert Whitman & Company
  • Chronicle Books
  • Harper Collins
  • Little Brown & Company
  • Macmillan
  • Simon & Schuster

Thanks! Very nice to have handy. I hope everyone’s ready for the weather here in the DC area. We’re going to get close to 100 today. Safe travels, everyone, and I hope you get to see some of the great landmarks/museums in our nation’s capital. Just stay hydrated throughout the day if you’re out and about.

I’m on my way too, On my wish list of things to do… meet the famous FUSE#8 blogger. If you see me (10 year old girl with giant smile on red scotter/wheelchair) say hi!

Laura, I did see you — talking to the Robot. He almost had you married to that boy, but the boy escaped the robot’s grip. Then he challenged you to a race, but got distracted by some nearby older women — one of whom was me. (which made me giggle) I hope you enjoyed your adventures there. -wendieO
