Alas, I have crashed! These Top 100 Children’s Novels posts are delightful and perhaps the most time-consuming project I’ve ever done. Now with my sister newly arrived in town and Matt and I getting ready for an upcoming move next [checks watch] weekend (anyone wanna recommend a good Manhattan mover?) I will endeavor to bring you the best quality updates on the list. However, for the next week or so, they may not be as daily as I’d like them to be.
Still, Tuesday we will resume as scheduled, never fear! Until then . . . zzzzzzzzz.

I find it tremendously reassuring that you have a burn-out point, especially after reading about your 4-5 hours of blogging a night in Forbes. Your work is amazing.

You more than deserve a break. With all the work you’ve been putting out, I’ve been wondering if you’ve managed to clone yourself. I am glad that you told us about your need for some time because the other day your post wasn’t up right away – and I was worried about you. Like actually worried. Take care of yourself.
You need to stop for a bit – not for yourself, but because the huge amount of work you’re putting out with these so far is making the rest of us feel like big lazy slugs in comparison.

No need to be a martyr! Enjoy your sister’s visit and a well-deserved sleep.
I don’t know about movers, but if you want bookish new yorkers to show up on your doorstep next weekend and carry boxes, just say the word!

Definitely time for a break … and it just prolongs this wonderful journey you are taking us on. I’ve already started to worry about how empty my weekday mornings will be without the new “package” to open. Hurray! Now the delightful surprises will continue until spring is on the horizon.

My goodness! The huge amount of work you have put into these posts would be remarkable under any circumstances, but that you are doing them while preparing for such a major move is truly astounding. At the very least you deserve a few days off! Thank you SO much for doing this.
After reading Eric’s summary, and browsing back over the books I voted for and the ones I’ve never heard of, I’m thinking that some day – and I’m not saying Betsy has to do it – I would love to see this same poll for YA books. 🙂

West Side Movers. Moved us twice, packed most of our stuff and broke none, and gave us good advice about what we should let them do and what we should do ourselves.
