I’ve Been Kicked Off of Twitter
Well, my apologies to everyone. Twitter, for some reason, has kicked me off. I’m very mad. So my apologies to everyone who was following me. There’s nothing to be done.

That is truly terrible. I’ve been sitting at my kitchen table for the past 45 minutes feeling very “in the know” thanks to your terrific updates. Now what?
Jess says
I was sorry to see you go – you were doing a much better job at keeping up than the official reporting.
Fuse #8 says
Trust me, it nearly killed me. Between the tweeted early release of the Newbery winner from Random House and my dead Twitter account, I was in a near panic. Totally missed the Batchelder winners for a second there. Ah well. Thank goodness for good old-fashioned blogging. This is why I’ll never be a real Twitter fan.
Matt says
Uff da!
I was wondering what happened! I thought MY Twitter feed was broke (and maybe it was) when you went offline…
Anyway, exciting news about When You Reach Me – but what was up with that early leak from Random house? I say boo!
Fuse #8 says
Boo, say I too! SLJ has already reported. Commentary from my end as well soon.
Maggie says
Heads will roll! I think the committees did a great job this year. Their decision must have been difficult with outstanding titles to choose from. I think most of my favorites were mentioned in the massive award list. Thanks for trying twitter…good while it lasted.
Fuse #8 says
It’s particularly funny when you consider that this sort of happened last year too. I was live blogging the winners, when a surprise class of kids came into my library and I had to stop to take care of them. Next year I’m just gonna plug Twitter directly into my brain ala “Feed”. Of course if something went wrong with that . . .
Chris Barton says
Oh, Betsy — what could possibly go wrong?
Gregory K. says
Ahhh, you got sent to Twitter jail! And I echo (Siebert honoree!) Chris – nothing could possibly go wrong with your plan. I look forward to watching.
Shawn says
Thanks for what you did do Betsy – I had the webcast in one window and you tweeting in the other (I was expecting the webcast to go down rather than you.)
Jen Robinson says
Always knew you were a rebel, Betsy.
Seriously, though, sorry for the hassle…
Joyce Moyer Hostetter says
Twitter in general is entertaining for about 5 days. Occasionally I visit my page or type a little tweet. When I remember.
Would much rather read your blog.
Stephanie says
Bless you for trying! You saved my sanity while the video feed hiccuped and coughed to life. By the time your twitter stream choked, the webcast was working. Thank you also for your eloquent reviews! Your blog is directly responsible for my library having ALL of the Newbery winners and 2 of the 3 Caldecott winners this year. I won’t hold you repsonsible for the horrified stares from my children as I Newbery/Caldecott danced through the house on Monday morning.
