State of the To-Be-Read Shelf: Late May
Uh-oh.
I think we’re gonna need a bigger boat.
If it’s any comfort, the books on the top shelf are the To Be Reviewed titles that I’ve already read.

It appears you have an original Grumpy Bird, and now I am forever jealous to the point of rigor. Also I *think* my TBR is about equal, they’re just scattered all over the house so I don’t have to cower in their monumental presence.
Yep. That’s Grumpy Bird. Jeremy Tankard stopped by my library one day and then just whipped off a drawing. It holds a place of honor. And they are intimidating, aren’t they? The picture books particularly.
Or — you need more days in the year? Actually, I don’t see how you manage to do all that you do do. -wendieO
My to-be-reviewed shelves cover the walls in my office. When people comment on this I just tell them that I need variety. What I really need are many more hours in the day.
Oh, I now feel much better about my to-be-reviewed pile. Of course the to-be-read books amount to shelves and shelves and shelves of books (not just one), but beyond a certain point, the effect is the same — It’s not going to happen! So why does it give me comfort that someone else is in the same boat?
I guess what I meant to say is that the to-be-read books fill bookcases upon bookcases. Not mere shelves. I just moved, too, and it comes home to me that I am overdoing this book hoarding thing. When I became a librarian and reviewer and could sometimes score ARCs, it got abundantly worse. Of course the sad part is how badly I really do want to read all those books…
