Kidlit Drink Night: Christmas Edition

November 28, 2007 by Betsy Bird   7 comments

It’s like the bat signal.  Only more circular and delicious.

So Cheryl Klein had this magnificent idea.  Kidlit Drink Night as a force for good.  In short, we’re going to have a Holiday Kidlit Drink Night at a new location with a new purpose.  Here are the elemental details:

Holiday Kidlit Drinks Night
December 10, 7 p.m.
Faces and Names on 56th St.

As always, you are each and every one of you invited.  You know I can’t resist you.

Now for the cool part.  We would like you guys to bring in children’s books in new condition for donation to the Children’s Aid Society of New York and their Christmas drive.  Cheryl and I will work out the messy details involving getting the books to the Society itself.  All you need to do is donate.  And see if you can wrassle up some cool stuff too, if you can.  Stuff that a kid would actually want to receive as a present his holiday season.  I’ve a couple ideas of my own that I’ve been itching to try.

    Hi Betsy,
Is it alright if I let my HP group know about this?

Of course! The more the merrier. And if they all bring pristine awesome children’s books, it’s all the better.

I won’t be able to make it, but I would like to donate a book or two. Have you or Cheryl made any arrangements for that? I’d be happy to drop it off at the library for you, if that’s best.

Hm. Not a bad idea at that. Sure, feel free to drop it by. Even if I’m not around you can always tell my co-workers to put it on my desk with a note.

Will do. Expect a stack soon.

Much as I would love to hop a train and join you for a drink, I can’t see it happening just now. Can I send you down a few books?

Sure. Or, if you’re able, you could just send them directly to The Children’s Aid Society of New York. That’s where they’ll all end up anyway. Thanks, Sara!
