LITTLE AIRPLANE PRODUCTIONS OPENS THE DOORS TO
THE LITTLE AIRPLANE CAFÉ SUNDAY, JULY 12
 
LIVE PERFORMANCE BY KIDS MUSIC SENSATION LAURIE BERKNER
KICKS OFF NEW YORK’S NEWEST VENUE FOR FAMILIES 

 
NEW YORK, NY June 24, 2009  – Little Airplane Productions, creators of the popular preschool television show "The Wonder Pets!,” will soon be welcoming families to the Little Airplane Café, New York’s newest music venue that will feature live performances by some of the most well-known artists in children’s entertainment.
 
Kid’s music sensation Laurie Berkner will open The Little Airplane Café on Sunday, July 12 with a special live solo performance.  This performance will be hosted by Mindy Thomas of The Absolutely Mindy Show and will be broadcast nationally via live remote on SIRIUS XM Radio’s Kids Place Live, SIRIUS and XM channel 116.  
 
Throughout the summer, The Little Airplane Café will present other prominent artists. The acclaimed kid-friendly rock band Milkshake! will appear on Sunday, July 26.  Best-selling children’s author Jon Scieszka (The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs) follows on August 9 with a reading from his works.
 
The Little Airplane Café is located at Little Airplane Studios, 207 Front Street in the South Street Seaport.  Doors open at 12:30 pm with the concerts beginning at 1:00 pm.  For more information, please call (212) 965-8999 or go to www.littleairplane.com.  Admission is $8.00 per person pre-ordered and $10.00 at the door. Snacks and drinks will be available at all performances.

About Laurie Berkner
The Laurie Berkner Band is made up of Laurie Berkner (lead singer/guitarist), Susie Lampert (keyboards), Adam Bernstein (bass) and Bob Golden (drums/ percussion).
