Original Children’s Book Art for the Next . . . Um . . . Sixty Seconds

May 24, 2008 by Betsy Bird   Leave a Comment

Like original children’s art?  Sure!  We all do.  Like auctions?  No?  Oh.

Hm.

Better skip this post then.

It seems that clever bookstore Reading Reptile has an auction going and it ends sometime today.  Here’s the info as they sent it to me:

People!

The hour of reckoning is upon us – only two days left. On Saturday, it’s OVER. No more time to hem and haw. Time to bid like you mean it! Put the hammer down. Why wait in agony when you can lay down a game-changer right now, and own a piece of history?
We have 60 amazing items up for auction on the web, including original children’s book art, signed book collections, and curious artifacts at:
http://us.ebid.net/stores/READING-REPTILE-DEBT-DEPLETION-STORE
– Artworks by Chris Raschka, Rosemary Wells, Jon J. Muth, Molly Bang, Brian Selznick, Arthur Geisert, Laura Huliska-Beith, Mark Teague, Susan Meddaugh, David Small, Jon Agee, Jenny Whitehead, Kevin Henkes, Laurie Keller, Don Brown, Michael Emberley, Jeanette Winter, Paul Brewer, Brad Sneed, Lemony Snicket & Lisa Brown, and Leo Politi.
– Japanese Ed Emberley merchandise not available in the U.S.!
– Rare prints from Jules Feiffer, Naomi Shihab Nye, Elisa Kleven!
– Signed book collections from Jack Gantos, Debra Frasier, Esme Raji Codell, Jane Yolen, Jim Howe, Tor Seidler, Kathleen Krull, Kate Feiffer, Norton Juster, Linda Sue Park, Tony DeTerlizzi…and more!
– A Ralph’s World guitar!
– A song written for YOU by Bill Harley!
– And just plain weird collectibles like Jon Scieszka’s limited edition Stinky Heads, and the Daniel Pinkwater Signature Collection!

Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.
You may also link to the auction through the store website:
www.readingreptile.com
Again, the auction ends on May 24th.
Time to do battle.

Thanks!

PS – If you have a problem registering on ebid, we suggest you don’t try to register when you arrive at the above link. Rather, go back to the ebid homepage (by googling it, e.g.,) and select the American flag; then register from there, under the "ebid.us" url designation. Thereafter, if you go back to ebid.net without following our link (or a bookmark) and you want to find our store, search "Selznick" or "Teague" or one of the artists featured in our auction to find the store.
