Fusenews: In Brief
- I made sure to sit next to Lisa VonDrasek during the ALA Media Award announcements this year. Word on the street had it that she liked to cheer. And now, lo and behold, she has written a piece for B&N about the award experience. She’s such a smartie. Thanks to Educating Alice for the link.
- This may be old news for some of you, I’m sure, but I only recently learned that the Nestle book prize has ended for good. This makes me very sad. In 1998 (thanks for reminding me about the date, Dan!) I was traipsing around London and I saw that J.K. Rowling’s then two books had won the award. A thank you to Bookninja for the link.
- Meghan McCarthy has some images up for her upcoming Seabiscuit book. Remember how we all posted our must reads for the coming year? Well, this one I want. I want it, I want it, I want it. Sorry, Meghan. Don’t mean to pressure you or nothing.
- Laini Taylor’s been all posty posty lately. Here’s one on how she got to meet Shannon Hale and Libba Bray (ending with a bit of amusing dog maintenance).
