31 Days, 31 Lists: 2022 Nonfiction Books for Older Readers

Humor being as subjective as it is, if you don't find one of the books on today's list funny then surely another one will do it for you. Something to please everyone, that's the goal! So get ready for funny poetry, nonfiction, biographies, comics, the works!

Review of the Day: 13 Ways to Eat a Fly by Sue Heavenrich, ill. David Clark

For the mystery lovers, a true tale that lays out the clues, the detectives, and the surprising solution. And for lovers of science, this is a superb recounting of how people learn more about the natural world around them.

Do We Expect Nonfiction to Be Serious?

31 Days, 31 Lists: 2018 Older Funny Books

December 21, 2018 by Betsy Bird

I'm not telling you anything new when I say that 2018 was not a particularly hilarious year for a lot of us. All the more reason to give our kids something to laugh about. Today's crop of books is for the 9-12 year old crowd, but that's flexible. You might know an 8-year-old that finds P.G. Wodehouse sublime or a 16-year-old that sneaks Captain Underpants books at night.
