Boy, howdy. I haven't done a good old-fashioned Fusenews in a long time. How do these work again? I just sort of throw up the recent children's literature news from a variety of sources with comments of some sort? Honestly, I used to do these pieces fairly regularly. That is, until I realized that PW Children's Bookshelf basically had this game in the bag. They know what they're doing over there. Still, there are always some interesting tidbits that catch my eye. On beyond the usual suspects:

Today on the Fusenews we begin with a mystery. Help me out here, gentle readers, I need your crowdsourced wisdom to solve a query for the ages. Every week I get my new copy of Publishers Weekly and settle down during my lunch break to read it cover to cover. It is one of my […]

I suppose that’s the thing with a streaming series these days. Either you’re the kind of person who jumps on board immediately or you’re the type who waits it out, gives it some time to breathe (and garner reviews) and then you dip a toe or two in. Been a while, hasn’t it? Well, better late than never. And you probably get a better level of quality videos if there’s a month’s gap, eh? Today we begin with the video of the week. The Wall Street Journal released this article about Brian Selznick’s puppeteering work on his own book trailer. For me, it’s […]

Oh, thank the high heavens. Good news, folks. The celebrities have arrived to show us how to write books with darker themes. Thank goodness they’re here! Until now the field of children’s literature was just an unending vista of sunshine and daisies. But thanks to the combined efforts of Evangeline Lilly (“I look around me […]
