A New Podcast for Your Children: Story Seeds Is Live!
You may have heard me mention in the past that I’ve been part of a brand new podcast. At a time when a lot of kids are listening to podcasts for fun (particularly when they’re stuck indoors) a new kids and family show The Story Seeds Podcast has launched from Literary Safari. Its host? Well, that would actually be me, and it features an earworm-worthy theme song by Andrew VanWyngarden, Grammy nominated singer/songwriter/musician and co-founder of MGMT.
The whole premise of the show is that real kids with ideas for stories pair up with real authors. Together they collaborate and “grow” their ideas into original short stories. You can now listen + subscribe at Apple Podcasts, or find it on your favorite podcast listening app using this link.

The producers just released a special PSA “How to Fight the New Bad Guy in Town.” In this four- minute PSA, Jason Reynolds shares with kids 8 tips on how to fight COVID-19, aka Coronavirus, plus a recipe for home-made hand sanitizer.
With so many parents looking for kid-friendly resources on how to talk to kids about keeping germs away (without being didactic) and so many teachers are working so hard on the frontlines to keep germs limited in their classrooms, Jason Reynold’s narration is calming and comforting.
Information is power and this brief listen will engage kids and give them a sense of agency. Please feel free to share this resource with your community.
