Press Release Fun: A Leonard Marcus walking tour of Margaret Wise Brown
Here’s what we know.
1. The weather is nice.
2. Leonard Marcus is pretty much the greatest living children’s literary scholar to put pen to paper when it comes ot the life of celebrated author Margaret Wise Brown.
3. Margaret Wise Brown lived in New York City.
Put it all together and you get to have Mr. Marcus himself leading you through New York City to see the woman’s haunts. How cool is that? And it’s sort of around BEA time, so some of you out-of-towners will have a chance to go! To wit:
Celebrate Margaret Wise Brown’s 100th birthday, on Sunday, May 23rd, by taking a fascinating walking tour of Brown’s Greenwich Village, led by Brown biographer/guru Leonard Marcus. Find out where the glamorous author of GOODNIGHT MOON lived, wrote, taught 2nd-graders, had cocktails with Ursula Nordstrom and H.A. Rey, and just possibly hatched plans for THE GOLDEN EGG BOOK and Great Green Room!
