Video Sunday: The Dans Have It

August 16, 2009 by Betsy Bird   3 comments

Well, sure.  I knew that there was a running series of Book Vs. Kindle YouTube videos out there.  But my interest really wasn’t peaked until Daniel Handler / Lemony Snicket was tapped.  Dude’s good, you have to grant him that.  Pity they had to cast his part with Jude Law in the cinematic version of his books.  Thanks to Educating Alice for the link.

Speaking of Daniels (I think we’ve three on the Video Sunday today) it has been explained to me that actor Daniel Radcliff (Harry Potter) is the nicest guy on the planet.  But until you see this video I don’t think it’s quite clear.  This was apparently a case where 10,000 Harry Potter fans in Japan competed to interview Dan.  She’s the winner.  And he is an infinitely patient fella.

Thanks to @abbylibrarian for the link.

Is it just me, or does Helen Oxenbury sound like what one expects, on some deep and abiding level, all children’s illustrators to sound like?

You can find more with her here.  Thanks to Children’s Illustration for the link.

And for my last off-topic video (we’re running short on time this week), I go local.  Didn’t find much this week, so why don’t you consider the comedic talents of my friend (you guessed it) Dan?  This little short won the top vote in a recent Channel 101 challenge.
