I Don’t Get Awards

September 23, 2008 by Betsy Bird   5 comments

No fooling.  I don’t mind not getting them because in the blogger world most awards mean doing some kind of work, and I am lazy.  Still, I say that I don’t mind not getting them, but secretly I want them.  I want them all.  So it was with great joy that I found that Just One More Book had given me an I Love Your Blog Award.

So here are the rules as I see them:

  • Add the logo of the award to your blog – Check

  • Add a link to the person who awarded it to you – Check and check

  • Nominate at least 7 other blogs – Ah.  The rub.  Well, with the knowledge that these people aren’t obligated or anything (particularly this close to our conference) check.

  • Add links to those blogs on your blog – Easy peasy.  Check.

  • Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs  – Um… Nah.  I mean, isn’t it nicer if they find out randomly on their own?  >shuffles feet<

Seven.  Seven seven seven.
Okay, I will now do seven blogs that are the oddest mix that stay within kidlit parameters that I could think of:

  • Jacket Whys

  • Tiny Little Librarian

  • Omnivoracious

  • 123OLeary

  • KT Literary – Ask Daphne

  • BB-Blog

  • Drawn!

See, that’s nice.  A good random sampling of blogs I enjoy reading.  Hey, have you ever followed this kind of thing backwards from the nominators?  I got as far as No Title Necessary with its cool banner of blue teeth and then had to stop.

Great nominations! I thought I was getting over my blog habit, reducing the number I follow. But alas, a whole new set. Tiny is very funny and Drawn delightfully visual. Like them all.

Oh, don’t be tempted to trace it! I spent way too many hours beyond kidlit into horse-rearing, primitive arts, and card crafts blogs, only to find nothing but the end of the internet.
