Busy Little Bee
Here’s a quick and dirty look at some of the images I’ve seen over the last day or two. If I can post more later today, I will certainly attempt to do so. In the meantime . . . Today I will be attending the Newbery/Caldecott Banquet. Now maybe I’m just being mean here, but usually when a name is misspelled on all the pertinent signs throughout the conference that word is "Newbery". In this case, however, "Caldecott" gets its misspelled due.
Kudos to those men and women that carefully, painstakingly have to create virtual towers of books. I am reminded of the Doozers of Fraggle Rock that would create beautiful towers only to have the Fraggles destroy them wantonly as a result.

. . . to the feline.
There were other kinds of prizes to be had. Would you care for the LAMA llama?
Or is a crafty dragon more your speed?
And am I the only person disturbed by how similar the Pop Rocks and the condoms looked? See if you can spot the differences.
Lisa Yee’s peep was on hand to provide commentary.
Yesterday was rounded out with a Feiwel and Friends party. The company generously lent bloggers their space and then allowed us to stay for the after party. Many of us were amused by the inadvertent message created when these two book covers were pushed together.
And here, from the party, is myself, Jen Robinson, Jay Asher and Gregory Pincus. A happy crew indeed.
More later!

All this is great, Betsy, but really, what is important is your FABU DRESS! Gotta love polka dots!

Doozers.
And you had to go and say LAMA llama. Now that song’s going to be running through my head all day, yet your clever site won’t let me post the link so it runs through yours. “Here’s a llama, there’s a llama, there’s a very little llama…”

Doozers, quite. And someone did point out that my polka dot dress had a suspiciously similar nature to that of Minnie Mouse. Someone else pointed out that that “wasn’t necessarily a bad thing”. There was then some talk about putting my hair up into little mouse ears. I declined but if I were a braver woman . . .

You sound like you are having a wonderful time here! By the way, those “clouds” you were feeling all powerful about aren’t really clouds. It’s what is known as June Gloom. We get a marine layer that moves in most nights and then burns off late in the morning. Of course, the temps are going up this weekend, so there might not be anymore gloom for you!

Am snickering at the misspelling. How is it that you’re taller than Jen? Must be standing on tippy-toe. SO JEALOUS that you’re all there and collecting books!
Thanks for the update!
