Video Sunday: Fear the Stinky Cheese Man
Few videos make me laugh out loud. This one did. By all accounts it is Mo Willems’ very brief acceptance speech after winning the Book Sense Book of the Year Award at Book Expo.
I keep stealing links from bookshelves of doom. This is due in part to A) The fact that I am lazy and B) The fact that she tends to find awesome links. And I like today’s link particularly because it is, to my mind, the ultimate V-Log journal entry. I’m sure that there are a lot of people in the world who would contest me on what is, in fact, the best YA author John Green v-log entry. You could make a very good case for many of them, but for the unconverted, I refer you to today’s link. Even if you have never seen the show, it works on so many levels.

And finally (just three today) I’m a little surprised that no one has ever taken this particular route when promoting their book in trailer form. Lewis Black has a nice take. I got the link from Galleycat and Ron Hogan speculated that Black’s humor definitely requires audience reactions to fully work. Still good though.
I particularly enjoyed the part where he spoke about introducing children to a love of reading. G’night, everybody!

All know that John Green’s videos are shamelessly derivative of the late “the show with zefrank,” yes? Shamelessly, almost eerily. Google it!

That first comment reads meaner than I meant it to. Sorry. But the resemblance IS striking!
