Fusenews: “Paper Llama” is an Anagram For “Papal Realm”. Coincidence?

• I think I missed this one.  I think you guys missed it too, which is odd since I would have thought that somebody would notice that there’s a Goosebumps blog out there.  You think I’m kidding?  I ain’t.  It’s called Blogger Beware and it has set about systematically dissect each and every book in the R.L. Stine oeuvre.  And honestly?  It’s great.  Sure, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel to systematically count the eleven times a chapter ends with a character screaming out in shock or horror in a single book, but who cares?  If BSC Headquarters can do the same thing with The Babysitters Club books (and can it EVER!) then surely Goosebumps deserves its due.  Thanks to my buddy Dan for the link.

• From Cynopsis Kids, a new Tintin rumor is whistling through the trees:

Rumors are strong that actor Thomas Sangster (Love Actually, Nanny McPhee) will be cast as Tintin , in the Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson 3D motion capture movie trilogy adaptation of the Tintin comic books, according to Daily Mail .  Created by cartoonist Herge (aka Georges Remi), the Tintin comic books follow the adventures of ace reporter Tintin and his dog Snowy.  Tintin’s first appearance was in a Brussels newspaper in 1929, and since then the 23 Tintin stories have been translated into 55 languages.  There have been no new Tintin adventures since Herge died in 1983.

• John Shableski, the sales manager for Diamond Book distributors, has a pitch.  A pitch for J.K. Rowling:  "Here is my publishing dream come true:  JK Rowling announces on the Oprah Winfrey show that she has decided to continue the story of Harry Potter, but in a graphic novel format.   ‘And’, says Ms. Rowling, in my dream, ‘I have decided to tell the stories of Harry’s parents and the origins of Snape and Dumbledore in this exciting format.’"  I would read that book.  Would you read that book?  I would read that book.  For the full extent of Mr. Shableski’s proposal, look no further than Buzz, Balls & Hype.

• In the Central Children’s Room we own several papercuts created by some bloke named Hans Christian Andersen who did them for a larf.  The man liked his paper and scissors.  Now, it seems, we’ve a more contemporary children’s literature guru going about the whole paper and scissors trend in an entirely different way.  Behold a llama:

If you guessed that the llama’s creator was none other than author/illustrator Mo Willems, you would be eerily correct.  Go on over to his blog and see the full extent of his post-Easter madness.  I would enjoy seeing the paper rejects that didn’t make the  . . . . wait for it . . . .  CUT!  Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha… heh heh . . . . heh.  Hm.
