Video Sunday – “Let’s Steal a Bunch of Stuff From Brooke” Edition

January 27, 2008 by Betsy Bird   1 comments

Hey! There are goodies here! Goodies I must have put in here at some point during the week and then forgot about.  When I came to my video posting and looking inside I was expecting tiny virtual moths to flutter out but INSTEAD *gasp* . . . .

I found these!

Up up up is author Rick Riordan. View him as he reads from the latest Percy Jackson book.

Thanks to Reading and Breathing for the link.

And now stand agog and aghast as we see a production of Doctor De Soto by William Steig

Thanks to Children’s Illustration for that one.

And . . . oh foot. That’s all that I have. So what do I do when this happens? I run lickety-split over to The Brookeshelf and steal HER videos instead! Ha ha! Look! Brooke found a book trailer for
Feathers by Jacqueline Woodson!

I like it cause Woodson found the same GarageBand piano solo music that I like to use in my podcasts.

And look what else Brooke found! It’s Bud Not Buddy as performed on the stage of the Minneapolis Children’s Theatre Company. It’s quiet but you get a feel for the show.

And I’m going to end with what I consider to be a piece of pure shining gold. Brooke, I don’t know where you found this but it’s mind-boggling. Some teens (I pray it was teens) decided to make a Lego-based trailer for
The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer.  Like Brooke, I have to wonder what the author would think.

I suspect that this will only amuse you if you’ve read the story. I, for one, was unable to look away.

Ha! Reading the title of this post made me smile. Feel free to swipe stuff from me anytime. If anything, it allows me to know that I am not alone in my fondness for teen-made Lego films of YA sci-fi.
