Video Sunday – 99 Red Balloons (Minus 95)
The other day Alison Morris at ShelfTalker was discussing my favorite independent children’s bookstore in Minneapolis/St. Paul, The Red Balloon, and it got me to thinking. We all know the film about a boy who finds a red balloon, only to have it popped by other unfeeling kids, right? It looked like this:
Well, years ago at a film festival I believe that I saw a Revenge of the Red Balloon film. So I look on YouTube to see if it’s there, and it is not. What is there, however, is just as amusing. This one was clearly a French project for school, but it’s charming.

There’s even a Part 3. Whoo-boy.
This one’s a little more sophisticated, but no less amusing in the end.
And this one’s just goofy, but small French children are adorable so I include it for his outfit if nothing else.
UPDATE: Adrienne Furness just found me another video. This one’s a little more gruesome than the others, but it certainly continues today’s theme of red balloon revenge. Or, in this particular case, red balloon mass homicide.
