I’ma Gonna Done Write a Book

October 12, 2007 by Betsy Bird   15 comments

Don’t believe me?  Well the proof is in the pudding.  The pudding, in the particular case, being an announcement made on the ALA Editions blog.  It’s non-fiction, so don’t get too excited.  Library-related non-fiction.  Still, it will be fun to get it done.  And after that, who knows?

Congratulations Betsy! What a fantastic resource for librarians and teachers!

Very cool! I look forward to checking it out. (The whole Winged Girl of Knossos thing ticks me off because none of the libraries in our consortium owns it, and I don’t want to read it *quite* badly enough to have it shipped in from elsewhere…)

    Congratulations! That sounds like a fun–and handy–book.

Congratulations, Betsy! I think it sounds like a great book. And I loved what she said about appreciating your voice, because I agree that it’s fun and distinctive. Enjoy the process.

Oh, for heaven’s sake–when will your coolness end??? That’s fantastic! Congratulations! And they picked you for all the right reasons–especially your ability to both read so much and still make it to all the parties.

Being that you’re the perfect person to write this book…it’ll be awesome.

    Congratulations!

Erm, does this mean you might be able to prevail upon NYRB to add Winged Girl to their NYR Children’s Collection? Please?! (I have dim memories of reading it in my old elementary school library.)

I’m doing what I can for it, but it’s like pulling teeth. I think I should just make t-shirts with the image of the book and the words REPUBLISH MEEEEEEEEE!!!! Other than that, I’m running out of ideas.
